For the most part, certain games have managed to do away with this problem through the use of crossplay, which lets players from different systems play with each other on the same servers. There are also many popular games, like EA’s FIFA 22, which are currently testing out crossplay features or planning to include crossplay in the future. It’s a huge development for multiplayer gaming, with most popular titles being released on different platforms and letting players interact with other users regardless of their platform of choice. Here are some other games that could benefit from the use of crossplay.

10 Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

Rainbow Six Siege has quickly become one of the most popular tactical shooters out there. A steady stream of content updates and some riveting gameplay has contributed to this notion.

While the console versus PC debate will reign supreme in a debate for crossplay, it’s still a great idea for Rainbow Six Siege. At the very least, console players should be allowed to play with each other.

9 Diablo 3

Diablo 3 felt like a pretty major disappointment when it was released for the first time. The lack of content and superficial upgrades didn’t really help things either.

However, over time, the game has become one of the better dungeon crawlers around. With the addition of cross-platform support, Diablo 3 can arguably become even more exciting to play!

8 Grand Theft Auto Online

Grand Theft Auto Online is one of the best multiplayer experiences anyone can subject themselves to. The massive popularity of this multiplayer mode makes it clear why Rockstar has focused so many of its resources on this game mode.

Unfortunately, this mode doesn’t have any crossplay, which is a shame. One can only imagine the sheer chaos that can ensue from the higher number of players in the game world enabled by cross-platform support.

7 Monster Hunter World

Monster Hunter World is one of the best entries in the series, with its launch across multiple platforms letting more and more people get into this amazing franchise. However, for a series where teamwork is essential to attain victory, the game lacks any sort of crossplay.

It’s a shame since no system really provides any player with a key advantage in Monster Hunter World. This makes it ripe for cross-platform support that can let players enjoy this game for even longer.

6 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the latest game in a series known for its fast-paced tactical-shooter gameplay. Assaulting bases and securing objectives is a gameplay loop that never ceases to be entertaining.

Global Offensive is another game where PC players might have an unfair advantage over console users. However, that’s no excuse for the fact that players on multiple consoles still can’t team up with or against each other!

5 Risk Of Rain 2

Risk of Rain 2 is the perfect example of how to develop a great sequel. The roguelike mechanics of this game have been enhanced quite a bit, and playing with multiple people is a blast every single time.

However, Risk of Rain 2 does suffer from a lack of crossplay, which is a shame given its emphasis on cooperation and teamwork. Hopefully, cross-platform support can be added in a later update for this game.

4 It Takes Two

Josef Fares is pretty experienced when it comes to developing cooperative adventures. In this regard, It Takes Two absolutely excels. There’s a reason why this imaginative game received the illustrious Game of the Year award, after all.

While players would definitely enjoy the couch co-op of this title, the title can also be played online if need be. However, due to a lack of crossplay, the player pool is definitely quite low, which is a shame given the amazing quality of this game.

3 Red Dead Online

Another online venture from Rockstar Games lacks some much-needed crossplay support. Red Dead Online’s quality might be nowhere close to that of Grand Theft Auto Online, but it’s still an amazing experience regardless.

With crossplay, it’s possible that the world of Red Dead Online could become more interesting. As it stands, the game is pretty barebones and players will have accomplished everything there is to do in this world after a point.

2 Don’t Starve Together

Don’t Starve was a brilliant indie title that made waves for its engaging survival gameplay. This prompted the release of another game in the series… but this time, it featured cooperative survival gameplay instead!

Don’t Starve Together makes for a great time with friends, with the act of surviving each day being just as tough and challenging as ever. The only thing this game lacks is cross-platform support, which is a small gripe in an otherwise brilliant experience.

1 Elden Ring

Elden Ring is one of FromSoftware’s most popular games by a country mile. The open-world approach has worked wonders, with the seamless online play of this game being just as engaging as ever.

With the introduction of crossplay, the frequency with which players can invade or aid other Tarnished ones can increase quite a bit. It’s a pipe dream, but the popularity of Elden Ring doesn’t really rule cross-platform support out just yet.
