Though fans are clamoring for a remaster of the first three Mass Effect games, the series as a whole has not disappeared. Recently, EA released Mass Effect: Andromeda on Steam to great success, which has left some hopeful for a larger revival following that game’s initially botched launch that left it panned by critics and fans.
Many have also expressed interest in seeing the series continue onto next-generation consoles. Because no announcements have been made on that front, a potential Mass Effect 5 is believed to be a long time away if in development at all, so the upcoming art book may be the only bastion of new Mass Effect content fans have for some time.
That said, BioWare is not quiet on the game development front overall. The developer has been working on revamping Anthem, and Dragon Age 4 was teased during EA Play 2020 as a next-generation title currently in the works. If the upcoming art book is successful, this alongside the Andromeda Steam release may open the door to new potential for the series.
The Art of the Mass Effect Trilogy: Expanded Edition will release February 23, 2021. Pre-orders are available now.
