Woods started Day 3 just one stroke off the lead, held by a cluster of five players (7 under). A sea of stars and former major champions make up the top 10 field in between Woods and the Day 2 lead, so he will need to get to work to make some headway entering the weekend.

The list of former major champions also in early contention includes Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Jason Day and Adam Scott, to name a few.

Others like Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy haven’t fared so well and will need a miracle to climb the ranks over the weekend.
