Prior to his dominant performance Tuesday, Harvey’s ERA in his previous four starts was 7.20. When asked if he considered that four-start streak a crisis point, Harvey snapped back.

“I’m not answering that bulls—,” Harvey said in his postgame news conference, via the New York Post. “We’re done.”

Before abruptly ending his question-and-answer session, Harvey said he wasn’t angry while pitching and that his slump was merely “part of baseball,” but Mets manager Terry Collins knew Harvey was a different man on the mound Tuesday.

“Matt was bound and determined to have a good game,” Collins said. “I’ve been around this guy for three years. He was focused tonight. He was going to pitch a good game tonight.”
