Jefferson recently aided the FBI in an investigation into his former business manager, according to documents obtained by TMZ. After the Mavs forward reported that he was suspicious Ted Kritza had stolen $2 million from his personal bank credit line, Jefferson recorded a phone conversation with his former associate, who “confessed to wrong-doing," the report said.

The recording of the alleged confession is now in FBI possession.

Kritza did not immediately return requests for comment by TMZ.

Jefferson started his NBA career with the Nets in 2001 and played seven seasons there. He’s bounced around the league since, with stops in Milwaukee, Golden State and San Antonio.
