A Somali refugee is in custody and faces several charges, including participation in terrorist activity, after allegedly stabbing a police officer and running over four pedestrians with a truck Saturday night. No one was killed in the attack.
Domi, in his response to the incident, called for stricter immigration controls in Canada.
That tweet prompted a flood of responses, including many who took offense to what could be construed as anti-immigrant views.
Domi later added several tweets clarifying his position, including the hashtag #isis in one such post.
While Domi resides in Arizona, he was born in Winnipeg and spent most of his youth in the Toronto area.
